Preemie Hole In Heart

Just Friends Material Girls

Chris Brander is a very overweight teenager who is in a very difficult situation for him to sustain. Aware of its lack of attractiveness, however, is always the 'best friend' of the beautiful Jamie Palamino which is not even touched by the idea that he can essersene love. Publicly humiliated by peers at a party bragging Chris takes a final decision: leave the city. We find him ten years later. Chris has become a handsome young man who frequents the art jet set in Los Angeles and having a good time to pick up and throw away the girls. Forced by a producer to travel with a singer from the irrepressible sensuality so as vulgar, Chris finds himself involved in a forced break from the parts of your home. Rediscover his mother, his younger brother with whom he has always been ... in conflict and Jamie.
Roger Kumble continues to deal with comedy and this time is very close to hit the target. Very close but not in the center. Here's why. The character of the boy destined to be a friend just does not exist only on the big screen or in the song (remember "Rule The World" by Max Pezzali?) But also in reality. So the possibility of identification with the big man Chris Brender 'before treatment' is a very strong narrative element. So is the opportunity to meet in cynical womanizer unconscious revenge 'after care', ten years later. It works well then the counterpoint of his younger brother nuisance which relies on the containment of the insatiable Samantha (with a year Faris unbearable to the point right). The problem is that sometimes the script wants to shuffle the cards and give the grotesque to Ryan Reynolds in those situations is not very credible. Again: very good idea to treat the theme of 'past comes back' with Chris now convinced of its seductiveness that instead sees resurgence of the frustrations of the past but it is 'the way' in which those who make their reappearance ends with the accession to lose the character. Would have us laugh (and maybe you do) but become a credible character in a speck. Too bad.
